Well I didn't get a lot done

I got a few things done to day but other than making dog food and going to work. that is all I've got done. I'm thinking of doing sme drawing tonight, not a lot though cause I've got a early morning tomorrow.

I was really hoping to get more done today as far as artwork goes, but after work I wasn't really in a creative mood.

Well, super calls BK for super tonight.

Got the Christmas tree up today!

Mom and I got the Christmas tree up today. (Well, mainly mom I mostly watched wasn't too good.)  we went with a smaller tree this year rather than try to fight cleaning around a large tree.

We had my Birthday celebration yesterday it was fun! Levi and Amanda came over and Grandma and Grandpa came over. Amanda and Levi got me a minion cake!

We had a good time. Got to catch up with grandma and grandpa.

Jake had some fun tonight

Maxine, Jakes doggie friend came over today for a visit...Jake and her started playing together as soon as she was let out of her kennel. Needless to say Jake is tired. Poor Jake doesn't have the energy to play for too long but they have fun together.

Jake and her like to race each other inside everytime that they go back in from being let out.
Max also likes to take off with Jake's toys or Gollum's (which makes Gollum mad.)

Well I am going to rap this blog up. Things are winding down here in Monkville.

Fall

Fall is in full swing here. The leaves on the trees have turned and are quickly falling with the wind and the rain that we have been getting. I think fall is by far my favorite time of the year.
The settling in of winter and the crisp feel in the air.

Jake has been enjoying the collet weather too. Gollum well he likes it to be 70 and no colder lol. However Jake does like his sweaters on a chippy morning.

Words escape me

Sometimes words escape me. I seem to be suffering a bit of a writter's block. I have been really bad about not updating this blog I know. I guess it's partly because I want to give readers something worth reading. I have had a few ideas kind of rolling around in my head and thought today is the day I will hash out the ideas and get it down on paper...WRONG. SO I thought I would just write about having writter's block. :D

I have been busy making greeting cards for my grandma for Chirstmas (She doesn't have internet so I don't have to worry about her seeing this.) I also have apainting in the works. I feel like I have way too many creative outlets. Is that even possible? I like to write, paint, play music, but I feel like I go in waves. I go in waves I guess sometimes focusing on writing while other times I focus on art and music. I wish I could be more balanced with it, like do a little bit each day. Or prehaps I'm just overthinking it and I need to just go with the flow?

I had better get off here, but I will leave you with a poem I wrote today:

Autumn leaves

By Beth B. Monk

The leaves are changing,
The Autumn wind teases the trees,
and swirls leaves to the ground.
The old North wind is settling in
for an exstended stay.

The Apples have rippend,
Mum flowers are in bloom.
As winter slowly starts to creep in.
Yes there's a change in the air.

"Mental" health day

Mom and I are having a mental health day...aka a lazy day. We got all the chores done yesterday so we could take the day off and just relax a bit. I am going to craft a little bit I think mom is going to be writing/typing on the computer. Right now I am blogging and working on my creative journal.

Last night I practiced bass guitar after a trip to wal mart. I'm slowly starting to get better at playing the bass but I have a lot to learn yet.

Well I am going to get back to my creative journaling.

Dear Matt Walsh

A wise man once said you never truly know a man until you walk a mile in his shoes. We don't know the battles each person faces each day, or what a person has been through. Robin Williams was a prime example of that, on the outside he looked to have everything, but he struggled daily with depression a disease that millions of people struggle with each and everyday.

To say a chemical in balance is a spiritual is wrong. There are a lot of Christians that struggle with a chemical in balance. So are you honestly going to look a fellow brother and sister in Christ and tell them that they are battling depression because they aren't spiritual enough? Talk about kicking a person when they are down. You are  basically  telling them to just suck it up and move on. The LAST thing we need to do is tell people that they are "bad" Christians if they struggle with depression. Telling people it is all spiritual could prevent people from getting the help they need for fear of not being a good enough Christian.

A chemical in balance is not a spiritual issue it is a disease that millions fight with everyday.
Unless you have struggled with Depression you have NO idea what kind of a battle that is to fight.

Psalms chapter one

             Day 1

                                                                    Psalm 1
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the
ungodly,
nor sits in the path of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of the scornful:
2But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and in His law he meditates day and night.
3He shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water,
that brings forth its fruit in its
season,
whose leaf also shall not wither;
and whatever he does shall prosper.
4 the ungodly are not so,
but are like the chaff which the wind
drives away.
5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand
in the judgment
Nor sinners in the congregation of the
righteous.
6For the Lord knows the way of the
righteous,
But the ungodly shall perish.
(NKJ)

                                                 Psalm 1:1 :
                                                                    Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the
ungodly,
nor sits in the path of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of the scornful:

In this Passage the psalmist is telling us that we shouldn't  follow the ways of the world, we will be blessed if we follow God's way. Romans 12:2 addresses this, “And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” (NKJ)  We are also told to put off our old ways [the ways of the world] in Ephesians 4:22-23 “That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”  (NKJ)
The psalmist goes on to say that his delight should be in the law of the Lord. In Psalms 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night.” (NKJ) Some versions like the amplified says “but his delight and desire..” So to get a deeper understanding of what desire is I looked it up in the Webster’s dictionary desire is a craving. Where as delight is a high degree of pleasure. Webster makes a interesting note about delight. “Delight is a more permanent pleasure than joy and is not dependent on sudden excitement.”  The Psalmist is saying that its a permanent craving and delight for God's word, he has a zeal or a zest for God's word, and he is hungry for God's word. He finds joy in God's word.

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

In this passage God was telling Joshua if he follows what is written in the book of the law then he will make Joshua's way prosperous.  We can't just read the word we are to be doer's of the word.
James 1:22 “But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (NKJ) God will make your way prosperous if you follow His word. He will make you thrive instead of just survive!
Psalms 1:3 Puts it beautifully in this metaphor. “He shall be like a tree planted but the rivers of water, that brings forth it fruit in due season, whose leaf shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper.”
(NKJ)

Will we face trials in life? You bet, but God will be there to help us through our trials in life. He will never leave you nor forsake you! (Hebrews 13:5) God will give meaning and purpose to our lives and give or lives fruit! And when the winds of this life comes it won't knock us down because we are firmly planted in God and His word.

Psalms 1:4-5 “The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the ways of the righteous, but the way of the  ungodly shall perish.” (NKJ)

Some questions I want you to ask yourself are:

1.                  Am I following God's after God's council or man's?

2.                  Am I craving/delighting in God's Word?

3.                  What Does this passage mean to me and how can I apply it to my life?

Gollum thinks he is a lap dog

Right now I have a figetty dog on my lap who by the way is about 24 pounds but thinks he is smaller.
Atlast the call for lunch has him running towards the kitchen to beg for his food.

Not a whole lot going on today I just did some cleaning this morning and then it will be soon time to go to work working evenings tonight and then I have open the next day. (we are a little short on people but it makes for a nice paycheck.)  I havn't done a whole lot of paintings lately, however I did finish the big ink drawing for mom's dinning room. woot!

I am thinking about lunch soon mom made some chilli mac for lunch yesterday and we are having the leftovers today. I  love leftovers! I don't know why but soups are so much better the second day.

A day off WHOOP!

I am enjoying my day off work today. I got the floors swept and mopped mom and I went grocery shopping. (Is it sad that most of the meat in the freezer is for the dogs?)  Anywho, I finally feel rested up!

Levi and Amanda brought over their new puppy (6wo. Jack russel  Chihuahua mix) Jake was so cute with it. He would follow Max(the puppy) around, at one point Max was laying down in a blanket and Jake sat down right beside Max every now and then Jake would put his nose on Max's head. Jake was highly upset at Levi when he picked Max up tp give him a bath he kept looking at Levi like "Dude the poor little puppy was trying to sleep!" lol  Max and Amanda are coming over tonight for supper so Jake will get to see his little buddy again. lol

Right now I am enjoying my cup of  coffee. :) I can't decide what I want to do today though. Do I want to paint? Draw? Write? Read? Part of me wants to experiment with my airbrush but I'm not real sure how to set up dad's aircompresser to the right airpressure and I'm not even sure what the right pressure would be so best wait til dad can help me with that. (funny thing about AIRbrushes they don't work without air.) I haven't invested in a smaller air compressor that's made just for airbrushes so I have to use dad's aircompressor.

Well before this becomes a book I am going to wrap this up. Did you know that I have been blogging for almost 10 years now?  (It'll be 10years feb 2015)

surrender

 "In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this dayour daliy bread.
And forgive us our debt,
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is tehe kingdom and the
power and the glory forever. Amen."

Matthew 6:9-13 (NJK)

How many times do we pray for our will instead of His will? How many times do we think God should answer our prayer the was we want Him to? And if His answer to our prayer is no we think He didn't answer, but He did answer No is an answer to pray too...so is wait. In our world of modern   conveniences where we can instantly download a song or a book we want or go get what we want within a few minutes or so we forget that our answer to prayer comes at God's timing, not ours. We Need to Pray that His will be done not our will.

I've been thinking a lot lately how God doesnt just want a piece of our lives but He wants all our life.
When Jesus called the diciples they put aside everything ...Luke 5:11 "So when they had brought their boats to land  and, they forsook all and followed Him."
They forsook all and followed God. Have you forsook all to follow after God? I know there are times in my life that I haven't forsook all to follow Him. Daily we have to remind ourselves that we are to surrender to God.

Here is what the webster's dictionary says surrender means :

: to agree to stop fighting, hiding, resisting, etc., because you know that you will not win or succeed
: to give the control or use of (something) to someone else
: to allow something (such as a habit or desire) to influence or control you

Our we willing to give God control of our lives? It can be hard and it can be scary sometimes because there will be times that we will be asked to take a leap of faith and step out of our comfort zone. But it will be well worth it. The question is are you willing to let God take control of your life? Will you lay down your plans, your dreams, your fears, your worries, EVERYTHING and follow God?

I did get some writing done, hopefully I can be displined about writting and actually finish the book that I have started to work on. Coffee and Chocolate

I can't think of a better duo than Coffee and Chocolate. It's a nice (but unhealthy way) to start the day. (I'd like to add I waited until at lest 10:30 or so.)

Yesterday I did a lot of painting and drawing I'm working o two different projects at once and right now I really just want to get the projects finished cause well I have ideas for other projects now swirling around in my head.  Right now the painting of Abraham Lincoln looks more like Brian Williams with a bead. Then I'm working on a ink drawing that's going pretty good.

Then we went out for Chinese food, I then bought a humming bird feeder and then we went to k mart and browsed.

Well I better get going I've got Coffee to drink!

Rainy day

It's been raining all morning here, call me crazy but I find it kind of relaxing to here the rain patter against the windows. I don't know what it is about rain it just makes me want to write...SO...I figured that I would write a blog post.

Here lately I have been intreguded about going off the grid and living in a tiny house. I think it would be neat to actually build my own tiny house, and blog through the whole process of course in order to do that I would have to have internet to blog. I just find it kind of intriguing. I Just think that we have become a nation of consumers nothing is ever big enough, back in the day more people lived together in smaller houses. People would have six or seven kids in a much smaller home than we do now with only two or three kids. I think it is awesome that there is a minimulist movement out there cause boy howdy do we need one. Please don't think that I am a minimulist cause while I think it would be awesome to be a minimulist I'm by no means a minimulist...I'm trying to weed through what I have and would like to be a minimulist but I'm just not yet. Hwever I am working my way towards it.

I had better get going before this becomes a book.

Oh what a week

We had a adventuruous week. Jake had another pancrease attack this week it started tuesday morning we were in and out of the vet for two days, running tests and giving him meds. He showed some improvement yesterday and is doing much better today.  He is alert and walking around, back to barking at everything that moves outside.  He also has an appitite today too. It's looking like he is going to pull out of this as long as he doesn't have another attack.
